So first and foremost, I do not recommend eating at least 2 hours before, during, or after this film. Particularly, not chicken, or any chicken-related products. Especially not from a fast food joint that may have been built on an ancient Indian burial ground. This is Troma. It’s Lloyd Kaufman. If you don’t know what you’re getting into, well, may a demonic chicken burst from your ass and bless your newly sphincterless soul.
The story here is intriguing. I don’t want to spoil it, but it involves chickens. And the dead. And, as the title implies, the chicken dead. Plus a lot of 3rd-rate topless strippers at one point or another. Maybe even 4th rate? But I don’t judge. And a lot of not quite horrible but not really good musical numbers. Kind of a wash there. Is Ron Jeremy the best actor in this? Well, at least he’s the most well known. Did I mention this film is wrong on multiple, many levels? I don’t exactly feel like a better person for watching it, but it did make me chuckle in surprised disgust, so there’s that. And maybe gag a little, like literal throw-up in my mouth when I burped. But I did eat some chicken beforehand not thinking about the evening’s presentations, so that didn’t help. That’s on me though, I just hope I can help you, the viewer, avoid the same potential regurgitations. This one gets...crude.
So, this is kind of like that movie Grease with all the singin and dancin, but with a cursed fast food joint that serves suspect, uh, food? And at least one chicken fucker. It does have some surprisingly good bad chicken and chicken-related gore scenes that both mystify and disgust. Is there a chokin the chicken gag here? Oh, you betcha! Absolutely kills it in the so bad it’s good kinda flick. Thank you Troma, for another fantastic obscene film that desecrates pretty much every topic it touches upon. If you like a lot of disturbing gross-out juvenile AND adult gore and comedy, this is up there. The geek playing the main character? That’s some tough material to take on, so Kudos to you, Jason Yachanin. Lloyd Kaufman here as the older geek is a nice touch, too.
