While I do realize that the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion is not everybody’s cup of tea, C’mon! Bellbottoms! Banger way to open what is essentially like a 2 hour music video. Fortunately, not all by the same band. Bellbottoms wears out its welcome kinda quick, so luckily there’s a lot of other great tunes to go along with the fancy drivin and dramas here.
We got Driver. Music. Robbers. Cops. There’s a cute chick and a deaf guy in the mix, too. So basically all that in a dryer just spinnin around.
This is one of those movies that isn’t a musical but the tunes are a character to the story as well. A nice mixtape. Or Songlist? Whatever the shit is today. A nice mix of music, regardless. Beyond that, Story is ok if you just go with it. It’s a movie. It looks good. It sounds good. Some great if not a little bit unrealistic driving sequences that are a lot of fun. And has a nice little romance wrapped up in it that has some feels. Pretty slick overall, worth a watch.
