VIDEO REVIEW

Questionable hippie music opens this one up. Not sayin all hippie music is bad. But this hippie music? Coffee shop hippie music, at best. So. Yeah. Fortunately, the movie Digs in pretty quick after that though, driving fast and taking chances. Acid King would be proud.

There’s a dude, I will say it’s Larry. A chick he’s leavin behind, I guess that’s Mary. Doomed from the start, you can never have rhyming names in a lasting relationship. It’s like a law or something. Accomplice Deke and Larry? Up to no good. Ill-gotten gains, but for a purpose! Plans go a bit squiffy, and the chase is on!

This is basically some fast cars and open highways and a walnut truck, with a bit of drama thrown in. Characters are revealed. Peter Fonda as the obsessed driver does his role good enough, Vic Morrow as the unorthodox police captain, also obsessed, in pursuit and is also a true Sonuvabitch. The ‘69 Dodge Charger is damn nice, even if it is like fluorescent green. Mary? Issues. Deke? Also some issues. And a small role by Roddy “Fright Night” McDowall. But it all drives by pretty fast, crashes, and drives some more. A few nice General Lee kind of jumps. It’s 1974, so there’s not really much else. The ending though, is a real banger!

Interesting Scene: There’s some inter-office politics at the police headquarters that is kinda revealing.

Great Angry Quote: “Every bone in her crotch. That’s what I’m gonna break.” - Classy!
