VIDEO REVIEW

Frank Cadillac, Magician SubExtroardinaire. Not exactly working the best joint on the old Las Vegas strip. But he actually prefers that, to lay low. Mentalists, Magicians, Illusionists. Usually parlor tricks. But for Chris Johnson (aka Frank Cadillac aka Nicola Fkn Cage), he’s actually the real deal.

This ain’t a bad little action film with a Philip K. Dick slant. Chris can see the future, so yeah, a bit mutanty, really. Before that’s kind of a thing, so he keeps it on the down-low. But only 2 minutes ahead. How can that actually help you? Nice for gambling to make some low-level cash so supplement subpar casino stage acting gigs. But there is an anomaly. A Chick, of course. That sets a whole new chain of events into motion including the F.B.I., some Foreigners, and oh yeah, a nuclear bomb in L.A. So, it gets a little interesting.

Julianne Moore as the tough no-nonesense FBI agent is a bit much, but Jessica Biel helps balance that out though. Does it get a little creepy? Yes. Yes it does. But then the story revs up and you kinda forget about that whole part. Biel does have a good character though. And nice small parts by Jim Beaver and Columbo! Overall a pretty fun ride when considering some of the potentialities.

Great Scene: Simple but effective illustration of a divergence of timelines as Chris scopes out futuralities.

Media Notes: Somehow ended up with 2 copies of this on blu ray. I mean it’s okay, but is it back-up copy good? I suspect drunkeness was somehow involved.
