Awesome animations + Awesome tunes = Awesome movie. I will fight anyones who says different. But I am not a fighter, I’m a lover. And I still love this movie, flaws and all. But mostly for the cool drawerings and soundtrack. Except for the Journey song. They should’ve shitcanned that one. But the Cheap Trick songs? Probably still my favorites from the band.
An animated anthology film here, based on a bunch of bad-ass short stories from the magazine known as “Heavy Metal” in U.S. markets, from its French Originator “Globules Hurling” or whatever it’s called, I don’t speak Croysants. But where live-action anthologies tend to have a few turds in the bowl, when you are dealing with animations? There’s too much work and time involved on way more people’s parts, so even the lesser parts of this are still pretty solid. And when I say lesser, I’m looking at you, gay battle pigeon! If you seen it, you know. If you haven’t, for some inexplicably retarded excuse of a reason, you will know. You WILL.
1981 animations so some aren’t the smoothieness one comes to find in the current CGI generation, but it is true to some of the original comic-book art it’s based on, throws in a few new tricks and some rotoscopings to make it a feasible pre-computerbased production. Each segment has some greatness to it. And because it is a comic-book basis and not having to rely on actual physical physics and anatomies, all women are Fantastically well rounded. Because that’s keeping with the genre. no. other. reason.
